Heritage Helpers at work

Heritage Helpers have been at work this week painting the bridge from the 14th tee to the 14th green on St John – pictured below. They have also been weeding and gardening the area near the 10th tee, down the path to the ladies tee in preparation for Pennant on Friday.

Club President, Kevin McLean is working with our Superintendents to reinvigorate the great tradition of Heritage Helpers. Meetings take place twice a month. This volunteer activity is not limited to golfers but to all residents and supporters of Heritage. As Kevin says, ‘I see this as something of a men’s shed activity – where we can meet and work for a couple of hours, and then have a coffee in the Club House.’

Heritage Helpers meet every second Tuesday in the St John Maintenance Shed. The Superintendents provide a brief update on the course and then provide a list of task requests. These tasks often include, paining distance markers and the rubbish bins, weeding, gardening and replacing the hazard stakes.
