Friday, 22 October 2021

To all Members

From Friday, 22 October, Heritage will be asking Members, their guests, our Social golfers and Corporate players to verify their vaccination status after they’ve checked-in using the QR code.

We have added a COVID Vaccination icon to the check-in system in the MiClub platform which will allow us to update and check the vaccination status of all Members.

Pro Shop staff will ask to check your vaccination status and then, update the MiClub system. This option only applies to Members, so everyone else will be required to provide verification of their vaccination status, every time they play golf.

You are welcome to show a screen shot, a printed copy of the certificate, or the MyGov page in your ‘wallet’ with your name and a tick. This applies to everyone who is aged 16 plus. We will require proof of double-vaccination and without it, we cannot allow people to play.

We recognise that this will add pressure to the check-in process but for Members, you will only need to do this once. The icon will be activated next time you check in.

We encourage you to support our staff as they navigate these new requirements. No jab – no play is our company policy. All our staff and contractors will be double vaccinated.

We acknowledge that this decision will exclude some Members who have not been vaccinated from attending the Club and playing golf, however we have an obligation to all members and staff to mitigate the risk that unvaccinated players will infect others. Legitimate medical exemptions can be considered by direct application to our General Manager, Terrence Cooley.

We are living in a pandemic. It is an extraordinary time and the only way out of this is through vaccination.

Further changes are scheduled from midnight on Thursday, October 21, at which the curfew and the 15km travel limit will be lifted.

  • Club House room density limits of 1 person per 4m² (DQ4) will apply for up to 20 people inside, and the outdoor setting will be open for up to 50 people, fully vaccinated.
  • Face masks must be worn in the Club House and can only be removed when dining.
  • The indicative date for 80% double vaccinated is 5 November. We will communicate more information on the implementation of any changes once confirmed by government and closer to the date. It is expected that mandatory QR Code scanning on entry to the Club House for electronic contact tracing will be updated – potentially linked to the Service Victoria App (QR Code check-in) and include vaccination status.
  • For those of you who live more than 15 km from Heritage and have been waiting in anticipation, we look forward to seeing you.
